Cerak Wool

Cerak Wool is an ultra-high-temperature fire resistant insulation material Spun Ceramic Fiber
manufactured by KCC with state-of-the-art Spinning process. KCC, which developed ceramic fiber for
the first time in Korea, has developed and produced Spun Fiber which is superior in quality than Blown
Fiber produced by conventional Blowing method. Spun Fiber has a longer fiber length than Blown Fiber,
so it has excellent tensile strength and various physical properties.

Features of Cerak Wool

Heat reserving and insulating property
It has the highest operating temperature (Cerak Wool 1300 Blanket -1260 °C, Cerak Wool HTZ
Blanket ~ 1430 °C).
Low thermal conductivity
It has a very low thermal conductivity at high temperature, so it has excellent insulation effect.
Low heat capacity
Since the density is much smaller than refractory bricks, the amount of heat that accumulated
is small, which reduces the heat loss due to the heat storage of the furnace.
Lightweight, flexible
It is light and flexible compared to conventional refractories, so it can be installed anywhere.
Chemical stability
It is made of high purity silica and alumina, and is resistant to chemicals, such as acids and alkalis,
and chemically stable.
Economics
It is possible to save fuel cost by excellent thermal insulation effect and reduce the thickness offurnace
body, thus the effective area is widened and workability is good, so it is

KCC Cerak Wool 1300, HTZ Blanket

Blanket is a high-temperature insulation material that is
lightweight and flexible because it is formed into blanket
form by needle punching after continuous lamination of
fiberized fiber. This blanket contains no binder and does
not contaminate the ambient air when heated.

Uses

• General heat insulation material (electric furnace, diffusion furnace, etc.)

• Back up of furnace wall insulation material (oil refining furnace, hot wind furnace, etc.)

• Lining materials for insulation of ceilings and walls of furnace (Annealing furnace, slow cooling
furnace, heat treatment furnace, etc.)

• Filling and sealing materials in dilatation zone of each part of furnace

• Sound absorbing material around the burner

Classification Features Uses

and thermal shock resistance.
